Putting it in the simplest form: My mother is born in St. Paul, MN and is a whole mix of things including: Native American, Swedish, Norwegian and I'm sure a bunch of other stuff. On the other side, my father was born in Brazil and also has ancestors of European descent, but please don't quiz me on the specifics! So what does that make me? Adriano I guess!
Airplane:
Cessna 172 - I put this here because I thought it would be fun to dream. OK, now back to reality.
After coming to the conclusion that Computer Science and I were just not the friends I thought we were, I decided to get a new major. I chose Economics, quite a switch I know! Though Economics was not my first choice, it was a choice that I was comfortable with. I am proud to say that I completed the B.A. in Economics in December of 2004.
Occupation:
I have a job in the financial services sector. I'd love to be more specific, but due to rules I'm not actually allowed to list the company I work for here since that would be considered "advertising." This means if I wanted to list my position here I would have to get it approved and to be honest, it probably wouldn't be. However, I'm happy to report my job is awesome, I love it and would love to tell you about it in an email or in person, which is allowed - otherwise business would be really tough! So please, do me a favor and ask! :-)
Hobbies:
Traveling! Traveling is the best thing in the world! I've been to many places including many parts of Brazil, Mazatlan, Mexico and most recently Europe. While in Europe I had the fine pleasure of visitng Barcelona, Spain, Nimes, France, and Venice, Italy. It was absolutely wonderful and I would recommend it for anyone with an itch to travel the world. Especially Barcelona. Barcelona is a great city, very clean, very organized, very pedestrian friendly, very easy to get around, and very beautiful. The buildings are classic looking and filled with great detail, if you're at all interested in architecture, Barcelona is your place. Finally, to top it all off, you have the beautiful Mediterranian Sea that appears no different than the ocean. It's awesome! Venice, the most romantic city in the world, is another great stop. However, while in Venice you best be prepared for tourists!
Favorite Number:
4! 44! 4444! You get the point. It really was a coincidence that my assigned dorm room number my freshman year was E444.
Music Preference:
Tough one. I love a whole assortment of music ranging from jazz, to pop, to some rap. Despite my wide taste in music, you may notice that country is not in my list, this is not by accident.
Favorite Sport:
To watch on TV: Football, soccer and sometimes some Twins Baseball.
To watch in person: Vikings Football and Gopher Hockey. Watching the national Brazilian soccer team play live would be the ultimate though, especially in a World Cup Championship game!
Community Involvement:
I'm an Assistant Scoutmaster with Troop 187 in Maplewood, MN and have been involved with Boy Scouts since late fall 1993. I was a boy scout for many of those years and have continued on as a leader since receiving my Eagle award in the Summer of 2000.
Favorite Summer:
My best summer so far was the Summer of 1997. Despite a hard and confusing home life, the summer of 1997 brought me the gift of friends that have become part of the foundation of strength I carry with me still today. Despite meeting many new people that summer and having more fun during our near-daily get-togethers than I've ever had since, I have to say there's nothing that has ever compared to the Fabulous Four: Angie Kacures, Jenny McDowel, Eric Lundequam, and myself. The Fab Four is a group of friends, to me, that was the best I ever had and the best I ever will have, the memories from that group during my darkest days in life always gave me plenty to smile about.
Goal In Life:
To live a happy, unselfish and financially-comfortable life with family and friends always nearby. To help some along the way and to make a positive difference in at least one person's life. Oh yeah, and to have fun!
A Cool Quote:
"I am invincible as long as I'm alive." - John Mayer
General Advice:
"Smile, even if it hurts." Something I once heard from a stranger that has worked for me.
